A preferred location for Dogger Bank D's Onshore Converter Station
- The Project has identified a preferred zone for the development of its Onshore Converter Station.
- This broad location is located to the south of Beverley and was previously referred to as zone 4 in project proposals
- The Project will now undertake a period of detailed assessment ahead of next-stage engagement later in 2026
Dogger Bank D has identified the zone to the south of Beverley as the preferred location for the development of its Onshore Converter Station. This zone has a connecting cable corridor which has been previously described as E1 or the northern corridor in project proposals.
The alternative location that was considered to the south of Walkington, which was referred to as zone 8, and the E2 or southern corridor, have been removed from project proposals; as has the option to co-locate Energy Storage and Balancing Infrastructure (ESBI) within the footprint of the Onshore Converter Station.
Dogger Bank D will now undertake a period of detailed work and assessment to determine a refined layout and design for the Onshore Converter Station within the preferred zone.
Ground investigations and trial trenching have commenced on the preferred zone. These activities are weather dependent, but it is estimated that the works will conclude by early June 2026.
Image shows the locations of the Onshore Converter Station zones presented at statutory consultation/Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR) in 2025.

Dogger Bank D will hold a consultation phase later in 2026 and is expecting to share more information about proposals for the Onshore Converter Station and present localised changes to the onshore development area shown at PEIR. The information presented will include the key themes identified as important by communities and individuals such as mitigation options and preliminary visuals as well as a series of in-person and digital public information events.
